Company Summary

Surgeons need a way to perform more accurate, controlled procedures inside the tight confines of the human body. Patients need treatments that will maximize their functional outcomes. To date, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has been limited due to a number of technical hurdles. By eliminating these hurdles, ColdSteel Laser will be the first of its kind to combine image guided techniques, laser instrumentation, and robotic control with MIS.

    MD, FRCS

    Snehal Patel is an Associate Attending Surgeon in the Head and Neck Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Associate Professor of Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He has experience in state-of-the-art instrumentation for minimal access and laser surgery. He is a leader in his field, well placed to facilitate early adoption.

  • Ricardo Toledo-Crow
    PhD

    Ricardo Toledo-Crow is the director of the Research Engineering Laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Throughout more than 20 years in industry and academia, he has designed, developed, and deployed over seven custom advanced systems for multiple research institutions including our prototype.

  • Milind Rajadhyaksha
    PhD

    Milind Rajadhyaksha is a mechanical and optical engineer in the Dermatology Service at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He directs an NIH supported engineering laboratory and co-managed the technical development of our prototype. His 20 years of expertise includes 5 years in industry where commercialized two medical devices.

  • Frank Palmer
    Interim CEO

    Frank Palmer is a clinical researcher at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He has developed and tested a hybrid simulator for endolaryngeal surgery and has worked to create an injectable substance that will reproduce the malignant properties of a tumor for surgical simulation.
