About this Accelerator

LA New Mobility Challenge is a major global startup competition focused on urban mobility. This pitch competition is a joint initiative of CoMotion LA, the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and the NewCities Foundation. Twelve companies will have the chance to pitch their innovations on stage to a crowd of top Venture Capitalists and key public and private stakeholders. Semi-finalists will compete for $25k in prize money, priceless recognition in front of funders and a fast-track application to be a LACI Portfolio Company.

Categories for this year's competition include:

The CoMotion LA event brings together the brave new world of the urban mobility revolution — a revolution that is set to transform every city in the world, large and small in a two day conference (November 14-15) in the Arts District of Downtown LA.

The New Mobility Challenge will take place at the La Kretz Innovation Campus on November 13, one day before CoMotion LA.
• Semi-finalists will compete for category winner prize of $5k and a grand prize of $25k, for total prize winnings of $40K
• LACI will provide Mobility Challenge semi-finalists with pitch prep support prior to the final competition
• LACI will fast-track the finalist of the Mobility Challenge for consideration as a LACI portfolio company (i.e., confirmed interview to be a given a condition offer to be a portfolio company). Fast-tracked consideration is only valid for one year following the award of the 2019 Mobility Challenge
• The winner will be jointly presented on the Comotion LA main stage by LACI and New Cities Foundation
