Biomimicry Institute

Over the course of millions of years, nature has evolved and developed strategies to address many of the challenges humans face today. By looking to nature for inspiration in a process called biomimicry, we are able to tap into ancient designs and systems, bringing incredible new (although some like to say "borrowed") technologies to life.

Through our programs we educate individuals in the biomimicry design process, train and support startups that leverage biomimetic technologies, and celebrate biomimicry successes through wide-reaching multimedia campaigns.

The Ray of Hope Prize® is a $100,000 prize competition looking for the top biomimetic startups each year. The Ray of Hope Prize is supported by the Ray C. Anderson Foundation.
