Siva Therapeutics has a safe and effective approach to cancer treatment using nanotechnology to deliver heat - Targeted Hyperthermia - to solid tumors. Siva’s approach uses localized heating of tumors with polymer coated gold nanorods - SivaRods™ - and infrared light. Siva’s therapy has few side effects and promises to be more selective than chemotherapy, less destructive than radiation, and without the risks of surgical treatment.

  • Len has 24 years of experience with commercialization of biotech products, services, and licensing, following an academic career as a professor of Bioengineering and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Washington. He has managed R&D and business development teams, and most recently managed P&L for a business unit of ThermoFisher Scientific that grew to $26M. An oncology drug project he led was partnered and is in the clinic.

  • COO and Director of R&D

    Colin Shepherd, PhD, MBA, received a BS in Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky (2000), a PhD in Genetics from Iowa State University (2007), and an MBA from Iowa State University (2008). He founded AimsBio, Inc. in 2006 and commercialized a novel amino acid bioassay that was used by clients in a variety of industries. Recently, he performed as COO and CEO of PhylloTech LLC, where he led the overall business development and operations.

  • Chief Legal Officer

    Steve has practiced law for over 30 years in law firms and public and private corporations. He co-founded and served as Chief Legal Officer and Vice Chairman of ClearVision Laser Centers, which had a 12X exit for early investors. He is experienced in every aspect of early stage companies, and will be responsible for contracts, negotiations, licensing, and other legal issues. Steve received his JD degree from Harvard Law School.
