Show Me Angels - Ideal Startup Investment

Show Me Angels is committed to investing in high-growth seed and early-stage companies in the Kansas City region and within the Midwest.

The purpose of the group is to help promote early-stage equity investing and to provide entrepreneurs and investors an effective, centralized forum to collaborate. Our members are successful business owners and executives experienced in funding and growing emerging businesses. Members engage in a participative style of investing in which they are encouraged to share their knowledge and expertise during the investment-selection process and with companies that are funded and supported by the group.

Specifics on the type of investments we are looking for:

- Preference is given to firms located in Western-Missouri (eastern Jackson County to be specific).
- Firms in out-state Missouri will be considered, especially if other Missouri investors are involved.
- Opportunities with no Missouri connection may be considered only if the investment is an exceptional opportunity and there is a mechanism available to conveniently monitor company activity and performance.
- Opportunities requiring large amounts will be considered if the company has a plan for obtaining capital beyond the amount Show Me Angels’ members are willing to commit.
- Show Me Angels favor ventures with high growth potential ($20 million or more in revenue by five years).
- Early stage companies that offer exceptional opportunities for high returns on investment.
- A compelling, well-articulated strategy for capturing and defending a significant market share.
- Proprietary technology, early market lead, or other strong barriers to entry.
- A strong management team to execute the business plan - with relevant and successful experience.
- A credible exit strategy for investors.
- A team with a desire for mentoring and coaching.
- A reasonable valuation that fits within the risk/reward expectations of our members
