With a diverse background in small and large organizations, I have specialized in sales and marketing for new products. I've held senior positions at Nortel Networks and Sun Microsystems, and also was a founding member of Pirus Networks (a venture-backed storage networking company purchased by Sun Microsystems in 2002). Born and raised in Hamilton, Sean started his career at Nortel where he worked at several Canadian and US locations. Sean’s positions ranged from planning Nortel’s international customers voice and data networks to running Nortel’s Southwestern Bell Customer Service team (a $1.2 Billion account). Sean also helped launch several successful business units (dial access – modem banks for ISPs, and VoIP products). Building these businesses helped Sean learn how to build a business from initial R&D into a mature business. Sean is an active member of the community. He is a member of the executive committee of the Golden Horseshoe Venture Forum (GHVF), and a member of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Science and Technology subcommittee. Sean is currently the owner and President of Strategic Ventures, an investment and consulting company supporting new ventures Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Sean holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.
